Asbury University
God is doing something miraculous within our world, and it is a beautiful thing to see. On February 8, students went to Chapel at Asbury University, as usual, but this time they didn’t leave once the worship concluded after the benediction.
Witnesses testify about a sweet Presence that was so palpable in the atmosphere that no one wanted to leave. Today, that revival continues to persist, and I am looking forward to seeing what God does with these young people as a result of this beautiful move.
Thousands of people have been traveling to Asbury, but it is my hope that we remember Psalm 22:3 in the King James Version tells us that God inhabits the praises of His people. That means we can also grow in awareness and sensitivity to God’s Spirit anywhere we lift up our voices to worship Him.
Today, we’re reflecting on Acts 12 CSB
About that time King Herod violently attacked some who belonged to the church, and he executed James, John’s brother, with the sword. When he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter too, during the Festival of Unleavened Bread. After the arrest, he put him in prison and assigned four squads of four soldiers each to guard him, intending to bring him out to the people after the Passover. So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was praying fervently to God for him.
What’s interesting about this text is that had the early believers stopped praying in defeat and disappointment about what happened to James they never would have encountered the amazing miracle God wanted to do with Peter. Just in case you’re feeling discouraged, I want to encourage you to keep praying. God still has a plan. Read the rest of the story here, and keep praying.
Women You Should Know
Shonda Angelou started writing her prayers and being fully present and transparent with God in 2013. It was during that time that she began to desire a written record of the seeds of prayer the Lord was leading her to plant, so when they blossomed into sweet fruit she could testify to God’s faithfulness.
In response, Shonda started handwriting prayers as gifts for friends as they experienced various milestones, and, today, all of those friends still have those powerful prayers.
Revive Faith Co. is Shonda’s way of delivering this gift to as many people as possible. The purpose of the prayer cards she’s created is to help believers pray without ceasing and to feel empowered to pray specifically, boldly, and powerfully.
These resources will also help REVIVE faith and prayer languages, ALIGN with God’s voice and purpose, and AMPLIFY the fruit of the Spirit in their lives. You can connect with Shonda on IG here and find more about her work here.
